What To Expect?
Preparation for surgery:
The first step is to schedule a consultation. At your consultation, you’ll meet with your surgeon and together you’ll determine your suitability as a candidate based on a medical evaluation, review of your medical history and a discussion of your personal goals. The procedure will also be explained in detail, covering options, what to expect on the day of the surgery, costs and potential risks. Your surgery will be scheduled and further instructions will be given, such as things to avoid, like taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications which may increase bleeding; to stop smoking for a certain period prior to surgery; and any lab work that may need to be done.
Surgery Day:
Chicago Tummy Tuck is generally an outpatient surgery and can take several hours depending on the extent of surgery needed. You will be visited by an anesthesiologist and be made comfortable before the surgery. The surgeon starts with a horizontal incision right above the pubic hairline. Through the incision, the muscles will be tightened and repaired with sutures. The belly button may be repositioned. And, of course, excess fat and skin are removed and skin is stretched tight and sutured together.
If this is the typical outpatient procedure, you will be in recovery for a few hours before being released to a loved one who should accompany you home for rest.

Mini Tummy Tuck
Mini Tummy Tuck Chicago (mini abdominoplasty) is ideal for individuals who have a minimal amount of abdominal skin and excess soft tissue or stretch marks below the navel (belly button). Because the area that needs help is smaller, the incision is smaller than the full tummy tuck. The navel is left intact with no incision scar present. Muscle tightening and liposuction can still be done as needed.
Full Tummy Tuck
The full tummy tuck is the most common abdominoplasty Chicago procedure and most patients requesting help with waistline issues are best served with this procedure.
